If you are reading this it means Ubuntu Trade is finally live! We are so excited our store is open and you are here. We have so many fantastic goods that I hand selected on one of my many trips to Uganda. Some items I procured directly from the local craft markets, others from some of our favorite collaborators.

What I can tell you about the goods you will find here:

We always pay a fair market price.

We ensure the makers of our goods are working in safe environments.

We are building lasting relationships with the artisans and makers we buy from.

The materials used to make our goods are ethically sourced.

Often the goods are made from recycled or scrap materials.

Due to the nature of most of our products, colors may vary from the photo on the website. The fabric of our textiles is often in limited supply, so if you see an apron or a tutu in a print you love, buy it, as we may never locate that exact print again.

Starting a socially conscious business has been an exciting adventure and I look forward to sharing so much more of what goes into working with our collaborators, sourcing the materials and highlighting the beautiful goods being made out of Uganda.
